Crime Fighting Bat Kid

Crime fighting Batkid saves San Francisco

Posted: Updated:
SAN FRANCISCO - The City of San Francisco was saved by a very young caped crusader today.  Thousands turned out to watch as a five-year old leukemia patient wearing a Batman costume, helped rescue a damsel in distress, thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation.

The situation was bleak in this Gotham by the bay.  A woman was strapped to a "bomb" in the middle of the street, the work of the arch criminal, the Riddler.  Washington demanded action.

"We're all counting on you, Batkid, to use your superhero powers to save our city," said Rep Swalwell.

Enter our hero.  Riding in a Lamborghini Batmobile and with the help of a more mature caped crusader, five year old leukemia patient Miles Scott made his grand entrance as "Batkid."

It didn't take him long to defuse the bomb, and rescue the damsel in distress, who thanked him with a hug.  In fact, the whole day was a big hug from the Make A Wish Foundation, and thousands of people who came from all across the state after learning about the event on social media.

"It's been wonderful.  It's been absolutely wonderful," said Judith Lanning, Batkid fan.

"Never dreamed it would be an event like this,” Batkid’s grandmother said. “Thank you, San Francisco."

Thanks to Batkid, and his many helpers, the Riddler was hauled off to jail.

And Batkid was hailed a hero.

Batkid's battle against leukemia has also taken a turn for the better. The disease is currently in remission.
