PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - Pasco County deputies arrested a man for impersonating a law enforcement officer. The man demanded a discount at a Dunkin Donuts drive-through saying he was a deputy, according to a PCSO report.

Charles T. "Chuck" Barry was in the drive-through lane of the Dunkin Donuts in Trinity when he showed the cashier a law enforcement sheriff star badge, identified himself as a law enforcement officer and and asked for a discount on his order of donuts.

When the cashier refused to give him a discount, Barry showed a gun in his holster and said, "See I am a cop!" according to PCSO report.

Witnesses told deputies Barry didn't threaten anybody with the gun and didn't take it out of the holster.

Surveillance was set up at the Dunkin Donuts a few days after the incident and it captured Barry going through the drive-through lane again. Then deputies pulled Barry over for a traffic stop and saw a law enforcement badge in Barry's wallet. Deputies said, he was also carrying a .38 caliber revolver in his front pocket. "He was very sorry he did what he did."  Said Pasco County Sheriff's Office Captain James Mallo.  "I believe he was even crying on scene. He made a huge mistake. "

The restaurant staff identified the man and deputies arrested him for impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Sheriff Chris Nocco says law enforcement officers often get ribbing about donuts, but in this case, he says this is no laughing matter.

"It could be something as simple as they went in and he wanted coffee, at a discount. What could be the next step?"  Asked Nocco.  "That's the thing that we're always afraid with these people that impersonate law enforcement officers, it's definitely they are in a fantasy world. There's something definitely that's not right with them. They have issues. And the fact that it's Dunkin' Donut's today, What's tomorrow? Is he going to pull somebody over. "
