UPDATE 11/6/13

The three juveniles involved in the head-on crash on West Elk Avenue in Elizabethton Tuesday night did not receive life-threatening injuries, according to an Elizabethton Police Department investigator.

One of the juveniles has left the hospital. No information on the other two was immediately available.

UPDATE 11/6/13:

Charges are pending in another Elizabethton crash.

Elizabethton Police said a Camaro driven by Kimberly Taylor, 53, crossed into on coming traffic and hit a Mazda 626 head on.

Police said the driver and both passengers in the Mazda are all juveniles.

Taylor is listed in critical, but stable condition at Johnson City Medical Center.

No word on the conditions of the three juveniles.

UPDATE 11/5/13:

Elizabethton Police Chief Greg Workman said a Camaro heading West N.. Elk Avenue veered and into on coming traffic and hit a Mazda.

E.M.S crews had to cut out a person from each of the cars.

The driver of the Camaro and the driver and two passengers were all taken to a local hospital with visible injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY 11/5/13:

A crash in the 200 block of West Elk Avenue has shut down traffic in the area. A dispatcher with Carter County 911 said the crash happened around 8 p.m. and advised drivers to seek alternate routes through the area.

Radio traffic indicated multiple people were taken to the hospital.

Elk Avenue is blocked to traffic in both directions. The Elizabethton Police Department, the Elizabethton Fire Department and the Carter County Rescue Squad are all on the scene.
