Some ECU professors join education protests

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Some university professors are joining education protests.

Public universities like East Carolina have more ways to raise money, but they are also being hit hard by state budget cuts.

So, to show their support for North Carolina teachers and their dislike of the recent budget cuts, they held a rally at the ECU cupola this afternoon.

Monday's protests started as a movement on social media calling for a teacher walk-out, but many teachers decided against walking out, because they could lose their jobs and they didn't want to keep their students from learning the day's lesson.
