Bradenton man charged with killing live-in girlfriend

A 48-year-old convicted felon with an extensive criminal background was arrested Sunday on a murder charge.

Terry Anthony Brady is being held without bond at the Manatee County Jail.

According to a Bradenton Police Department report officers were dispatched to the 200 block of 19th St. East just after 5 a.m. in response to a 9-1-1 call. When they arrived they found an unresponsive female suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Linda Brown, 47, was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital where she late died.

The victim’s live-in boyfriend, Brady, was quickly identified as a suspect and questioned by detectives. He was arrested and taken into custody. The homicide is the eighth in the City of Bradenton this year.

Brady, who also uses the last name Braddy according to his Florida Department of Corrections file, is no stranger to law enforcement. He has served four stints in the state prison system for a variety of crimes including drug possession, grand theft and felony fleeing to elude.
