LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) -

Investigators with the Lakeland Police Department are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a shooting suspect.

Justin Michael Footman, 24, is a convicted felon who is considered armed and dangerous.

According to a LPD report the incident occurred at approximately 12:35 a.m. Friday. Police say the suspect was visiting Kendrick Lamond McGary and Ryan Rachon McGary at a residence in the 800 block of North New York Ave. The three men were playing cards when Footman brandished two firearms, forced both men to the floor and asked for their money.

The suspect shot Ryan, 24, while he was on the floor; Kendrick was hit by a bullet when he jumped up and attempted to flee. Both victims were transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Footman was quickly identified as a suspect by detectives with the department’s Violent Crimes unit. An arrest warrant was issued late Friday. The suspect is facing two counts of attempted murder, two counts of robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections Footman has an extensive arrest record in Polk County. He has served two stints in the state prison system and his prior charges include cocaine possession, felony fleeing to elude, aggravated assault and criminal mischief.

If you have seen Footman call 9-1-1.
