HERNANDO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - In a letter sent to parents of Hernando High School students, the health department is confirming that two cases of  MRSA, the bacterial skin infection, have been diagnosed at the school.

The letter says that the skin infection is spread by having direct contact with an infected person, sharing personal items such as towels and razors, and touching contaminated surfaces or items like used bandages.

The Hernando County Health Department, which sent the letter, is advising parents to contact their local health provider if they have any additional questions.
