Kingsport police say a woman waited for more than an hour and a half to take her one-year-old son to the hospital after he overdosed on suboxone.

Emilie Rothert, 20, has been charged with child abuse and neglect. She was arrested by Kingsport Police Monday night.

Officers were called to a fire station on West Stone Drive, where police say Rothert's son was vomiting and showing signs of an overdose.

The little boy was rushed to Holston Valley Medical Center for treatment. The Department of Child Services is also investigating this case.
