Boulder Native Returns to Home State as Chef at Denver's Modern American Restaurant
DENVER, Oct. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Second Home Kitchen + Bar, offering modern American cooking in Denver's Cherry Creek neighborhood, is pleased to welcome Jason Brumm as Executive Chef.
Chef Brumm, a Boulder, Colorado native, received his culinary training at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, following his schooling with stages in France and Italy at a number of Michelin star restaurants. Brumm has since worked for a number of respected dining establishments, including Radius10 in Nashville, P.J. Clarke's in Washington D.C. and New York City and as Director of Culinary Operations for Strategic Hospitality in Nashville, overseeing a number of outlets including The Food Company, Greenhouse Bar, and The Patterson House.
Chef Brumm brings a personal touch to Second Home, a menu founded on the intersection of classic and modern American cuisine, while incorporating the global influences found throughout the city of Denver. Finding that his extensive travels throughout the United States, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean have shaped his culinary approach, Brumm looks to let the natural essence of each ingredient to shine.
Over the last 18 years, Brumm has received a number of awards and accolades, including recognition in The New York Times, Washington Post, Southern Living, and Bon Appetit. Brumm also competed on the "Mile High Melee" episode of Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell on Food Network where he was chosen for the position of Second Home Kitchen + Bar Executive Chef. Brumm returns to Colorado with his wife and two young children.
