Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee says detectives are investigating the murders of two women whose bodies were found in a home on Highland Ridge Circle in Brandon on Thursday afternoon.

Deputies also are calling 24-year-old Charles Martinez a person of interest in the murders.

The bodies of the two women were found in the home on Thursday afternoon after authorities responded to a report of a fire on the 1500 block of Highland Ridge Circle according to Hillsborough County Sheriff Spokesperson Larry McKinnon.

Officials said they responded to the neighborhood on Wednesday when a neighbor reporting smelling smoke, but firefighters did not find a fire. A neighbor called authorities on Thursday when they saw what appeared to be fire damage to a window of the home.

Firefighters responded to the home on Thursday afternoon and found the bodies of the two women and major fire damage inside the home.

Deputies are looking for Martinez, who they say should be considered dangerous. Detectives say they have recovered a Mazda Protege that Martinez may have been driving, but have not located him.

Anyone with information about the location of Charles Martinez is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay.
