Brother, sister play same position in middle school football

Posted: Updated:
A total of three girls play football in North Eastern Independent School District in Texas, and one of them plays the same position as her brother on the same team, WOAI reported.

Meet Caitlin Betz, Jackson Middle 7th grader, defensive end and a part of the kickoff return team. She plays with her brother Michael ans says it's a good thing she doesn't have to tackle him.

She told WOAI that a lot of girls came up to her and told her they were too scared to play.

"I think I've encouraged some of them," she explained.

Her mother Deborah Betz said the boys on the team taunted Caitlin from day one, but she didn't give up.

"They're starting to get used to it so I'm not getting it as much," she said.

She wants to play high school football one day, she shared with WOAI.
