Southern Wayne HS student charged with making bomb threat

Junior Josue Mejia was charged with a false report of a weapon of mass destruction on educational property.
DUDLEY, N.C. -
A 16-year-old student at Southern Wayne High School was arrested after writing a bomb threat on a bathroom wall at the school.
Law enforcement said the message was found at the end of the day on Oct. 8. Authorities reviewed security camera footage and questioned Junior Josue Mejia, of Jake Drive in Dudley, in connection with the message.
Mejia admitted to writing the threat and was taken into custody, law enforcement said. He was charged with a false report of a weapon of mass destruction on educational property.
He was held under $500 bond at the Wayne County Jail.
