CLEARWATER, FL (WFLA) - The young woman once known as the 'hiccup girl' is headed back to a Pinellas courtroom Wednesday. Jennifer Mee's attorneys are requesting a new trial.

Last month she was convicted in the murder of Shannon Griffin. Investigators say in 2010, Mee befriended Griffin  on a social media site and lured him to meet in a St. Petersburg alley. Once there, her two roommates robbed, shot and killed Griffin.

Under a Florida law, if someone dies during  a serious crime, the people involved can be charged with murder.  Mee was convicted even though she did not pull the trigger.

Her hearing starts at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
