Rays fans disappointed but hopeful for next season

ST PETERSBURG, FL -

It was a quiet exit from the Tropicana Field for thousands of Rays fans early Wednesday morning. Their team lost 3-1 to the Boston Red Sox in Game 4 of the American League Division Series.

"I'm just so surprised they didn't win tonight because I really thought the momentum from yesterday would have carried them through and then I thought we'd really have a great game in Boston, but I know they'll come back next year," said Rays fan Lisa Aseta.

More about this season for the Rays.

"It's okay though," joked Red Sox fan Violetta Mileman. "Maybe one year you'll get some rings on your fingers."

Fans say they still have reason to celebrate. The Rays did win 92 games this season. Business owners surrounding Tropicana Field aren't complaining either about the Rays week in the playoffs.

"It literally triples our normal flow of business," said Ricky P's New Orleans Bistro owner Rick Parsons.

The Rays have scheduled a press conference for Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. to discuss their 2013 season.
