POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - A Honda Civic hit a semi tractor trailer Tuesday morning on Interstate 4 near Kathleen Road in Polk County, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. Everybody survived the crash.

According to the FHP report, the Civic was going east on I-4 approaching the Kathleen Road overpass. It passed the unloaded semi operated by M&I Equipment Leasing out of Green Bay, WI. The driver of the Honda, Armando Fernando Ricardo Jonesia, 24, lost control of the car and crashed into the left rear of the trailer.

On impact, the Honda deflected back across the roadway, twisted and ended up underneath the trailer, according to the FHP report. The semi dragged the stuck Honda for several hundred feet before it stopped on the outside shoulder, troopers said.

Jonesia and his two passengers Alexander E. Fields, 20, of Tampa, and Madison B. Kliimzak, 18, of Riverview had minor injuries. Jerry Lynn Yoder, 64, of Palm Coast, the semi driver, was also injured in the crash. According to FHP, they were treated at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

Authorities ticketed Jonesia for failure to maintain a single lane.
