Rays rally planned in St. Pete on Monday

Posted: Updated:
Everyone's invited to celebrate the Tampa Bay Rays with a free street party and rally on Central Avenue on Monday, October 7 before heading over to Tropicana Field to watch the Rays take on Boston in Game 3 of the American League Division Series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. The party will be held in front of Ferg's, 1320 Central Ave., between 3:30 and 6 p.m.

Fans can celebrate with beads, music, and some give-aways or pose for photos with giant heads of players, mascot Raymond, DJ Kitty, and other notable faces. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Ferg's.

Due to the street party, Central Avenue will be closed to traffic from 13th Street to 15th Street beginning at 2 p.m.

Single game tickets went on sale Friday at noon and are available online at www.raysbaseball.com <http://www.raysbaseball.com>

If a Game 4 is needed, the Rays will be back at the Trop on Tuesday, October 8, scheduled to begin at 8:37 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to allow enough time to find parking and locate their seats before the first pitch so they don't miss any of the action.

PARKING - Baseball fans will find more than enough parking, either at Tropicana Field or throughout downtown, for the third game of the division playoffs. Baseball fans can find detailed on-site parking information including general parking, pre-paid parking and directions at www.raysbaseball.com <http://www.raysbaseball.com>. ; If stadium lots fill, fans may find parking in one of the 74 approved lots located within a half-mile radius of the stadium and displaying signage, marked with a capital P,' lot number and city ordinance information.
