ST PETERSBURG, FL -

The iconic Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign is getting a tremendous boost in support this year thanks to St. Petersburg's HSN, Inc. through its philanthropic program "HSN Cares."

The leading multichannel retailer is raising funds for lifesaving programs through special products sold at HSN's Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF store.

"Anything that happens today in our world should grab our attention, we have a responsibility to protect children of the world," said Mindy Grossman, President and CEO of HSN.

After traveling alongside Caryl Stern, the president and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, deep into underdeveloped countries, Grossman returned committed to helping mothers and children she met along the way.

"At HSN we strive to cultivate a culture of generosity. Our people are not only creative and passionate about what they do, but also about giving back and we are honored to be partnering with UNICEF for their 63rd annual Trick-or-Treat campaign," Grossman said.

In addition to channeling funds into the UNICEF's Trick-or-Treat campaign, HSN is also committed to helping Stern sell her book "I Believe in Zero: Learning From The World's Children." From Bangladesh and Mozambique to the earthquake ravaged Haiti, Stern personally traveled to all corners of the world to meet with mothers and children who are suffering, in hopes of finding a way to help.

"Anything else is unacceptable, like the title of my book, I believe in Zero, and I truly believe we can do that," she said.

Stern's mission is to bring down the staggering statistic of 19,000 children who die everyday from preventable illnesses to zero.

In their journey to help mother's and children Stern said she realized that Grossman was truly passionate about trying to give back,

"This woman is genuine, she truly wants to use her platform as President and CEO of HSN to help others," Stern said.

Since taking the helm at HSN in 2006, Grossman has made it her mission to give back not only locally in the Tampa Bay area, but nationwide and now globally.
