Pipeline to the pros

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

NFL great Vinny Testaverde is back in Tampa. But this time he is making his moves on the other side of the field, as coach, and most importantly, dad.

Not very often does a high school quarterback get the luxury of working hands on with an NFL player who excelled at their position; however Vinny Testaverde Jr. not only has this opportunity, but also gets to spend quality time with his dad on the Jesuit practice field.

Testaverde Jr. states, “Just the success that he’s had, and his attitude towards it, he’s not real cocky. He tries to teach me things about football and being a good player off the field.”

Testaverde Sr. embraces the time he spends with his son as well, going on to say, “ It only comes around once, and you only get these opportunities every so-often, and I’m certainly taking advantage of the opportunities that presented itself, for us as father and son, as well as player and coach.”

Testaverde Jr. and the Tigers take on Newsome this Friday night at 7:30 pm.
