2 arrested in Clayton restaurant stabbing, assault

CLAYTON, N.C. -

Police arrested two men in connection with a stabbing and assault on Sept. 7 at a pizzeria in downtown Clayton.

Two employees were assaulted behind Primo's Pizza at 226 East Main Street just before 10 p.m. while closing the restaurant for the night, the Town of Clayton reported.

The victims did not suffer serious injuries, authorities said.

On Sept. 18, Clayton police arrested 20-year-old Damonte Lorenzo Taylor of 601 Charles Street and 21-year-old Deanthony Trevel Barbour of 246 East Front Street.

Street was charged with charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, authorities said. Taylor was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and larceny charges.

Taylor and Barbour were placed in the Johnston County Jail on more than $100,000 bonds each.
