Tampa breast cancer survivor fights for others

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Iselyn Hamilton-Dallas is a survivor.

"A month before my wedding, I found out I had breast cancer so it was devastating," she said. “When I found out I had breast cancer I was in the bathroom on my knees with my boss, crying with me.”

That was seven years ago.
Now, Hamilton-Dallas is healthy. And to help others, she founded 'I'm A Survivor, Inc.,' an organization created to help women diagnosed with breast cancer meet financial needs like doctor visits co-pays and other things. It also provides emotional support.

"If I can help one other person have that blessing, its awesome for me," Hamilton-Dallas said.

Every other year she hosts a huge party to raise money for an organization she's part of called Sister Network Inc.
The money from her party goes to the network's breast cancer assistance fund.

"I do it every other year now and we do DJ, live entertainment, which is usually local talent, it's phenomenal, she described. "We have a silent auction, this year my coveted Ray Lewis football is gonna be up for auction so everyone's gotta come for that."

Hamilton-Dallas says it's a party for a purpose.
And if she can help just one person - her purpose would be fulfilled.

The Sister’s Network walk takes place at the Martin L. King Center on Oregon Street from 8 a.m. to noon Sep. 28.

Iselyn Hamilton-Dallas’s party is Oct. 12 from 5 to 9 in the evening at the Center Place on Vondburg Drive.
