Clayton festival runs through Sunday

CLAYTON, N.C. -

Don't want to wait for the State Fair?  The Clayton Chamber of Commerce provides all the fried food, carnival rides, concerts, vendors, car shows, kids activities and fun you need this weekend.

The 2013 Clayton Harvest & Music Festival began Thursday and runs through Sunday. Officials expect another record crowd of 20,000 people in downtown Clayton.

The annual event includes all kinds of performances, arts and crafts, more than 170 different vendors and more than 50 different community groups.

Saturday is the huge vendor fair, where thousands crowd Main Street for blocks.

Here's a schedule of what's ahead:

Saturday, Sept. 21

9:00 am - 5:00 pm: Vendor Fair - Main Street Down Town Clayton

9:00 am - 11:00 pm: Carnival Rides Open Food Lion Midway - Horne Square

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Creative Hands Kids Corner - The Wagner House - Main Street

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Entertainment - The Town Square - CruiseOne Main Stage

5:00 pm - 7:00 pm: Concert - The Grass Cats - The Town Square - CruiseOne Main Stage

8:00 pm - 11:00 pm: Concert - The Konnection Band - The Town Square - CruiseOne Main Stage

7:00 pm - 11:00 pm: Downtown Dance Party @ next to Horne Square - Hosted by:DPM Studios

Sunday, Sept. 22

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Seeds Family Worship Band and Fellowship - The Town Square - Sponsored by Southside Church

1:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Carnival Rides Open
