Georgia woman accused of killing her children in California

Posted: Updated:
SANTA ANA, Ca. -

A Georgia woman is behind bars, accused of killing her two children.

Authorities allege Marilyn Edge fled to California with the kids following a court dispute with her ex-husband. The bodies of the 13-year-old and 10-year-old were found in a Santa Ana hotel on Saturday.

Police say Edge attempted to take her own life by crashing her vehicle, but survived.

A lawyer for her ex-husband Mark Edge says she fled Georgia after a judge's ruling went against her. The ex-couple had been in a lengthy custody battle.

Marilyn Edge is facing a pair of felony counts, and, if convicted, could face life in prison.
