DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police investigators are trying to locate Alexander Boddie, who is wanted on firearm and stolen vehicle charges.

An officer was patrolling on North Alston Avenue near Liberty Street when he heard several gunshots shortly before 1 a.m. on Wednesday and saw a car speed away, police said. Officers found a car matching the description on Glendale Avenue near Northwood Circle and learned that it had been reported stolen.

Officers found one man – Paul Faison, 19, of Hoover Road – hiding under a woodpile behind a house on Northwood Circle and charged him with possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting a public officer. Warrants have been issued charging Boddie, 41, of Elizabeth Street, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and felony fleeing to elude arrest.

Anyone with information on Boddie's location is asked to call Investigator J.P. Brigante at (919) 560-4281, ext. 29122 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.
