Shots fired near Tampa strip club

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Shots were fired in the parking lot of a strip club in East Tampa and two cars fled from the lot before officers arrived to the location, according to the Tampa police report.

TPD officers responded to the reports of gunfire about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning. When they arrived to the Club Dreams located at 4217 E. 7th Ave. in Tampa, witnesses told them that two cars drove away from the parking lot just moments ago.

Later officers were informed that a driver of a black Jeep Cherokee was shooting at the driver of a red Infiniti near 40th Street and East Chelsea Avenue.

The Jeep overturned and crashed into a building near North 40th Street, the driver ran away, according to the police report.

The driver of the Infiniti was not injured, police said, but he found a bullet hole in the driver's door.

TPD detectives are investigating the shooting.
