Bus driver in wreck that injured 26 students gets new lawyer

WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

Brenda Gray, the Washington County, Tennessee bus driver facing numerous charges stemming from a crash that injured 26 students, has a new lawyer.

Gray faces 39 counts of reckless aggravated assault, along with speeding and reckless driving charges, in the crash that occurred September 20, 2012, on Mount Wesley Road.

Gray appeared in court Thursday for a plea deadline hearing, but that deadline has been pushed back, after he original attorney passed away recently.

Today, Gray told Judge Robert Cupp that Clifton Corker has agreed to represent her.

Cupp moved the plea deadline to October 9th, to give Corker time to look over the case.
