Single mother of 5 killed in Manatee County

DUETTE, FL (WFLA) -

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating a murder Wednesday night in a grove in the 4200 block of State Road 62 East in Duette.

Deputies said a coworker found the body of a woman in a tractor and called 911 just before 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The woman worked at the grove.

Detectives with the Manatee Homicide Investigative Unit said the woman was shot and they are investigating the case as a homicide.

According to the MHIU, the woman was a single mother of five and lived in Bowling Green. Her name was Maria Moralez, 42.
