Just days after Miley Cyrus presented her provocative performance at MTV's Video Music Awards; her father says he stands by his daughter.

After performing her edgy hit, "We Can't Stop," she sang the first verse of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines." Dressed in a nude colored outfit, Cyrus proceeded to grind and gyrate around Thicke.

"Of course I'll always be here for Miley. Can't wait to see her when she gets home," Billy Ray told Entertainment Tonight.  "She's still my little girl and I'm still her Dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out. I love her unconditionally and that will never change."

The MTV awards show was clearly the most talked about program, with Miley Cyrus' risque dance routine setting social media records. The show was seen live on television Sunday by nearly 10.1 million people, sharply up from the 6.1 million viewers for last year's program.

For Miley, the attention her performance sparked does not seem to bother her. "Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute. That's more than the blackout or Superbowl!," she recently tweeted.

On iTunes, the official music chart for the week ending August 26 had Thicke's "Blurred Lines" in the number 2 slot. "We Can't Stop," by Miley Cyrus, came in at number 7.

Melanie and Jeffrey Cornwell should have been getting a tax break for years on part of the homestead property in Dunedin they call their "little piece of Heaven." But due to a mistake at the Pinellas Property Appraiser's Office, they won't see any rebates for previous taxes, just a break on future tax bills.
