HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

Deputies have identified a suspect in the theft of a donation box from a Tampa McDonald's.

Investigators say Richard A. Peralta, Jr. is the man caught on camera stealing a donation box from the drive-thru window of a McDonald's on Waters Avenue around 12:39 AM on August 15.

The $400 in that box would have gone to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provide help for the families of sick children.

Officials with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office called the alleged thief an "idiot", and "an absolute lowlife".

Peralta Jr. has an extensive arrest record, including drug and theft charges.

If you know anything about Peralta Jr.'s whereabouts, you can call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of this suspect, who wants to be eligible for a cash reward can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
