As soon Artavis Scott gets the ball in his hands, he's thinking touchdown. Scott caught 24 touchdowns for East Lake during the past two seasons.
"When the play has started, when I touch the ball, I know whether I'm going to [score] or not," Scott said. "I don't know where it comes from. It just happens."
Scott is one of the top-rated high school players in the state. He does it all for East Lake: wide receiver, kick returner and cornerback. "All of it," Scott said. "I love football. I'm an athlete. I don't like one position more than the other."
"The biggest thing about [Artavis] is that he's ultra-competitive," said East Lake coach Bob Hudson.
Scott's future is on defense. He'll play cornerback in college at Clemson. Scott will be the first bay area football player to go to Clemson since 2001. "I don't want to be a follower," he said. "I just want to do what I have to do to make something different of myself, and I knew that me going to Clemson would be a good opportunity for that."
