PINELLAS COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

Three teens accused of the beating of a younger boy on a Pinellas school bus last month appeared in court Tuesday.

Julian McKnight, Lloyd Khemradj, and Joshua Redding are all charged with aggravated battery.  Redding also faces a robbery charge.

"If you were in adult court this would be a 2nd degree felony, and that is a very serious matter," said Judge Raymond Gross, Pinellas Circuit Court.

The bus surveillance video from July 9th, shows the 3 teens, ages 14, 15, and 15 at the time, repeatedly punching a younger boy. The victim suffered a broken arm.

Investigators said the attack was in retaliation for the victim telling teachers the older boys wanted to sell him drugs.

Juvenile Justice officials recommend 9 months probation and anger management for Khemradj and McKnight, but prosecutors disagree.  The judge agreed to watch the video tape at the next hearing.

Meantime, attorney's advised the families not to speak to the media. McKnight's father, Julian McKnight, only had this comment:  "Consequences are consequences. That's all I have to say."

The teens will return to court August 27th.
