A high school girls' soccer coach was in indicted Tuesday on charges involving sexual exploitation of a minor.
Robert Peterson, 43, was indicted on six counts of third degree exploitation of a minor. Peterson was a soccer coach at Green Hope High before resigning from his position.
Peterson will now face a judge in Superior Court on August 21.
Peterson could face a minimum of 39 months in prison for each count if convicted.
Warrants showed pages and pages of visits to a child porn website by Peterson. Police say he entered a chatroom to talk with another visitor, who was actually a detective.
The Green Hope girls' soccer team won the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4A state championship in May.
The Falcons finished the season undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Peterson also taught social studies at Green Hope.
Amtrak services are delayed in Morrisville due to a freight trail derailment, authorities said.
