Man injured in Garner shooting dies

GARNER, N.C. -

Garner police confirmed Thursday that a man shot July 31 in Garner died on Monday due to his injuries.

Kyevon Diates Frazzell Gayles, 35, was shot outside the Westchester Apartments in the 900 block of Seventh Ave. on Wednesday, July 31 at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Police say a newer model, white four-door Nissan Altima or Maxima was seen leaving the area after the shooting. The suspect is described as approximately 6-feet tall, with an average build and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a white ball cap with black brim, white T-shirt and black shorts.   

The homicide case is still under investigation and anyone with information should contact the Garner Police Department at 919-772-8810.
