Man found dead in Pinellas Park SWAT situation

A man was found dead in a home after Pinellas Park Police surrounded the house on 78th Avenue and 63rd Street for several hours on Tuesday night.

Police responded to a call about gun shots fired at 7860 63rd St. Police dispatched SWAT teams, and they surrounded the home with the suspect inside. Police said the suspect was barricaded in the house for hours and he was making threats.

When the teams made it inside, they found the man dead in the house. Officers believed it was his residence.

Officers closed 78th Avenue near the scene and traffic was diverted away from the area for several hours Tuesday night.
