10 charged with defrauding seniors in home repair fraud ring

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Authorities have charged ten people with more than 70 counts of defrauding senior citizens in a home repair fraud ring.

The suspects were arrested and charged as part of "Operation Nail It." They are accused of taking more than $300,000 from elderly citizens.

"Operation Nail It" is a coordinated effort by a task forces comprised of the State Bureau of Investigation's Financial Unit, Wake County District Attorney's Office, Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office and local police departments.

Attorney General Roy Cooper, Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby will hold a press conference about the investigation today at the North Carolina Emergency Management Center on Gold Star Drive In Raleigh.
