Ex-pro wrestler arrested in Tampa fatal stabbing

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Authorities in Florida say a former professional wrestler faces murder charges in the stabbing death of a woman at a Tampa apartment complex.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials say the woman, Bianca McGaughey was found Tuesday night near the apartment complex with multiple stab wounds. Deputies said, McGaughey and the ex-wrestler Brian McGhee, 29, dated for a while, broke up a year ago but stayed in touch.

Hillsborough County detectives learned during the investigation, McGhee drove to the apartment complex Tuesday, parked his Pontiac Grand Am and got out of the car. He came up to McGaughey when she was walking towards his car and moments later started stabbing her, according to the HCSO report.

He left her on the sidewalk and drove off. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responders pronounced McGaughey dead at the scene.

McGhee's car was spotted in Tampa and authorities began pursuing him. According to HCSO, McGhee crashed the Pontiac into a guard rail during the pursuit near Interstate 75 in Pasco County. Deputies deployed K-9 Chino to help arrest McGhee because he didn't respond to their commands to place hands in the air.

Paramedics took McGhee to St. Joseph's Hospital to treat his wounds. Doctors released him from the hospital on Thursday. He was booked into the Land O'Lakes Detention Center.

As a wrestler, McGhee went by the moniker "The Future" Donovan Ruddick. He worked for World Wrestling Entertainment from 2010 to 2012.

A photo of what appears to be a bleeding arm or leg was posted Wednesday night to a Facebook page under McGhee's name.
