TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

WFLA is adding an hour long newscast from 4-5 p.m. beginning on Monday, August 26. It will be the only 4 p.m. news broadcast in WFLA's viewing area (Tampa Bay market). The new 4 p.m. newscast, First at 4, will allow viewers another convenient option to watch News Channel 8 News on their schedule.

First at 4 will feature original reporting, in-depth news, investigations and 8 On Your Side coverage that viewers have come to expect from News Channel 8. In addition, advertisers will have a new opportunity to target and reach customers during this desirable 4-5 p.m. time period and during a live newscast.

News Channel 8's Stacie Schaible, will anchor First at 4, in addition to her 5:30pm evening co-anchor duties. "I am delighted to launch the first 4pm newscast in the Tampa Bay area. People rely on us and I'm excited to share First at 4 with our viewers."

According to Brad Moses, WFLA's President and GM, "The addition of a 4 p.m. newscast reflects the strength of our 8 On Your Side brand in serving the people in Tampa Bay and surrounding counties."

WFLA News Director Don North says, "This newscast will be everything you expect from News Channel 8. First at 4 adds hours of original reporting and 8 On Your Side journalism that our viewers expect from us."

WFLA's 4 p.m. newscast will air first in its current evening lineup of 5, 5:30, 6, 7 and 11 p.m. newscasts.
