RALEIGH, N.C. -

North Carolina State University Police is investigating a burglary at Weston Manor Apartments near State's campus.

The incident happened at the apartment complex on Avent Ferry Road near Centennial Parkway around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The resident told police he woke up and a subject was standing over him, looking through his belongings.

"It's kinda worrisome since it is so close to home," said neighbor Russell Hedden.

The victim told police the suspect did not have a weapon. The suspect is described as a heavy-set black male, bald, with glasses. He was last seen leaving the scene wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans.

Police said the apartment complex had one break-in last year.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call campus police at 919-515-3000.
