Hawkins has been charged with kidnapping and sexual battery. He waived his first appearance in front of a judge. Judge Peter Dubensky issued a bond of $2 million on the kidnapping charge, and no bond on the sexual battery charge.

The judge did not feel there was enough information in the probable cause affidavit to make a ruling at this time. He said it was too vague.

Hawkins has a prior criminal record in New Jersey, Colorado, and North Carolina. He's been arrested in the past on domestic battery and drug charges. Hawkins was released from a North Carolina prison in 2007 on two counts of first degree kidnapping.

Judge Dubensky will have another bond hearing for the sexual assault charge on Friday.
