RALEIGH, N.C. -

Residents of a North Raleigh neighborhood say a woman violated a restraining order when a dozen vehicles were seen in her driveway on July 4. Her attorney, however, says the gathering was within her rights.

Neighbors in the Radcliffe subdivision -- just off Falls of Neuse Road -- say Pamela Verbal has used her $2.9 million home as a nightclub since she moved in a year ago, despite appeals by the homeowners association to cease the on-going parties. They say Verbal hosts parties at her 15,000-square-foot mansion that carry themes like "Eyes Wide Shut" and "Immersia [sic] Pool Party."

The parties, neighbors claim, attract as many as 600 attendees and 150 vehicles, and are a violation of multiple neighborhood covenants, including using the home as a business and being a nuisance in the neighborhood.

As a result, the HOA filed a lawsuit against Pamela Verbal, and a Superior Court judge ordered that she can no longer host the parties or have more than five guests in her home at a time, exclusive of immediate family, service people or movers.

The restraining order further prohibits Verbal from using her home for commercial purposes or "engaging in conduct that would be a nuisance, annoyance, obnoxious or offensive to violate the quiet enjoyment of surrounding property."

However, Verbal's neighbors say she is not abiding by the terms of the order, and on July 4, as many as a dozen vehicles were parked in the driveway of her home.

Verbal's attorney, Tiffany Russell, said Verbal was not in violation of the order, explaining that she "is allowed five guests in addition to family members and service people."

Verbal previously told WNCN that she had done nothing wrong and "all allegations are false."

"There has not been one report of illegal activity at my home," Verbal said. "Have I had parties? Absolutely. Have you seen my home?

"Have the parties been loud and outrageous? No. My guests have enjoyed my home as well."

Verbal says she has been targeted by her neighbors for being black and she is being forced out of her neighborhood. In June, she put the home up for sale, listing it for $2.95 million.

"There are only three neighbors plus me that make up this Radcliffe HOA," Verbal said. "I feel like the neighbors are targeting me because I am black. My neighbors have stereotyped my guests.

"My parties only became a problem after my guests were predominantly black."
