BRADENTON, FL (WFLA) -

A small kitten was rescued from a sewer line in Bradenton on Sunday.

Shortly before 5:30pm, the Bradenton Fire Department received a call about a cat stuck in a sewer line in the 1500 block of Manatee Avenue West.

Officials said two neighbors heard the cat in the storm drain. Using specialized equipment from Animal Services, firefighters removed the metal grater and rescued the 6-8 week old kitten from the roughly 4" pipe.

The kitten is safe and is in the care of Animal Services.
