Ex-husband finds woman's body in Bradenton home

BRADENTON, FL (WFLA) -

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office says they have named a person of interest in the murder case of Jazmin Catano, a 30-year-old woman who worked for the Manatee County Clerk of Courts Office as a clerk and was found dead inside her home.

Detectives say they want to talk Catano's ex boyfriend, Andres Collazos. They say Collazos caught a flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Columbia on Sunday.

At this time detectives consider Collazos a person of interest and do not have an arrest warrant for him.

Deputies say Jazmin Catano's ex-husband was dropping their child off Sunday night at Catano's home at 5960 36th St. West.

When no one answered a knock on the door, he entered the home. Deputies say the man saw evidence of a crime and called 911.

Deputies found Catano's body in her bedroom with signs of trauma, according to the MCSO report.

An autopsy will be performed. Detectives said they do not believe this was a random incident.

They ask anybody with the information to call Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011, ext. 2518 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
