II. Invitations- Depends upon the formality of the shower
A. Evite - Postmark or Punchbowl - Many hosts prefer using an electronic invitation with the feel of a real paper invite. The electronic invite provides the host with easy guest management features, like instant RSVP and update reminders. Just be mindful that older people do not always appreciate electronic invitations because they might not have a computer.
B. Traditional Invites - Traditional invites are generally used when the shower is for the family members, or the shower is more formal. Oftentimes, it's simply because they like the feel of the paper. Many people like to create their own invitations online and have them custom printed. TinyPrints.com offers some fantastic templates.
III. Games - Non-traditional Baby Games are very popular. Expectant moms no longer want guests to "guess how big their belly is"
C. Baby Photo Game - A fun idea is to have your guests bring their own baby photos and have everyone guess who's who. This game helps everyone socialize and get to know each other better -- not to mention it can get some laughs.
D. Do It Yourself - If you don't want games at your shower, DIY projects can be a hit with guests. They're creative, fun and a great way for the expectant mom to take away heartfelt keepsakes.
1. Frames - Blank photo frames can be purchased at a local art supply store and guests are asked to paint and decorate a frame for the new baby. You can have stations so that 2-4 guests can work on one frame
2. Onesies - Have a clothesline hung from one end of the main table or the gift table - long enough to pin onesies to it. Have guests work in pairs to either paint or use clothing markers to create onesies and then attach them to the clothesline with clothespins. Mom-to-Be and Dad if present can vote on the winner.
C. Signature Mocktails - Get a boost by sipping a mocktail coordinated with your theme, like a Momtini, Mamarita or Mamajito (alcohol-free concoctions of your favorite drink with club soda or another fizzy drink). Not only will these be tasty drinks, but when presented in a fun glass or punch bowl, they're also a part of your décor. You can float toys in the punch bowl that go with your theme.
A. Cake Pops - easy to eat, and unique
