TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Visitors to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa have a chance to get up close with never-before-seen pieces of music memorabilia.

Two collections are on display starting Friday June 14 as part of the traveling "Treasures of the Hard Rock" exhibit.  One, titled "Gone Too Soon", pays tribute to music icons whose lives were cut short.  According to a Hard Rock press release, this collection features items like an 8th grade yearbook from Kurt Cobain, and clothing worn by Whitney Houston.

"Music Gives Back - Rock 'N' Roll Philanthropy" focuses on artists who worked with the Hard Rock on charitable campaigns.  This exhibit features, according to the Hard Rock, "items including Elton John's sequined "Uncle Sam" outfit, a purple silk shirt worn onstage by Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon's iconic round glasses."

The two exhibits will be on display through June 21.
