Womack Army Medical Center to be impacted by Fort Bragg furloughs

Posted: Updated:

In an effort to save the Department of Defense money during automatic federal spending cuts, civilian furloughs at Fort Bragg will soon impact the Womack Army Medical Center, officials announced.

Officials announced that the main outpatient pharmacy at the center will close Sundays beginning July 14, the refill distribution center pharmacy will close Saturdays at 12 p.m. beginning July 13 and the Post Exchange pharmacy will stay open through lunch but close from 1 to 2 p.m. beginning July 8.

In addition to the changes on the WAMC campus, outlying primary care clinics will be shut down on Fridays beginning the week of July 8 and lasting through the month of September. The clinics impacted include Clark Health Clinic, Joel Health and Dental Clinic, Robinson Health Clinic, Troop and Family Medical Clinic, Fayetteville Medical Home and Hope Mills Medical Home.

A consolidated clinic will run in the WAMC Residency Clinic on Fridays beginning the week of July 8.  Patients may call 910-907-2778 to make an appointment. Patients may also call 910-907-2625 to cancel appointments.
