Clean-up continues after Thursday's storms

TRI-CITIES, TN/VA (WJHL) -

Hundreds are still without power Friday after a powerful line of thunderstorms hit the Tri-Cities Region Thursday afternoon. 

At one point, the Johnson City Power Board estimated 5,000 customers lost service.  As of 10am, that number dropped to 50, according to the utility's Twitter account @JCPowerBoard. "We anticipate full restoration this afternoon." said JCPB via Twitter. 

As of 10:25 p.m., Appalachian Power estimated about 420 customers in Sullivan County had no power.

Several hundred customers still didn't have power in Hawkins County, Tennessee Dickenson and Wise Counties in Virginia, according to www.appalachianpower.com .

Law enforcement officials are reporting tree and power line damage across the Tri-Cities region.

Johnson City / Washington County, TN dispatchers say there are trees and power lines down in the areas of Carter Avenue, Hillsboro Avenue and Browns Mill Road.

Kingsport dispatchers report trees and power lines down along Stone Drive and Fairview Avenue.

Bristol, TN dispatchers didn't report any damage, while Bristol, VA officers say there are some trees down.
