Suspect in two Lakeland Circle K stores arrested

Posted: Updated:
LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) -

Polk County Sheriff's deputies assigned to the Northwest District on patrol late last Saturday evening were conducting a perimeter check of the 7-11 Store located at 5870 US Hwy 98 North when they located 62-year-old David Lynn McIntyre of 5580 Deeson Road in Lakeland.

Deputies say McIntyre had an active felony warrant for his arrest for Violation of Parole (Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon).  He was also positively identified and charged as the suspect in the two Circle K robberies that occurred Saturday in Lakeland.

McIntyre has 8 prior arrests in Polk County, for charges such as Armed Burglary, Grand Theft of a Firearm, Aggravated Stalking, Violation of Injunction for Protection, Possession of Weapon by Convicted Felon, and VOP.

Earlier, PCSO robbery detectives investigated two armed robberies at two different north Lakeland Circle K stores committed by the same suspect within an hour.

Detectives say around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, a man entered the Circle K convenience store located at 3100 N. Galloway Rd. in Lakeland. The man pulled a handgun and ordered the clerk to give him the money from the register. Detectives say the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Approximately one hour later, around 5:00 a.m., the same man entered another Circle K convenience store located at 7250 Hwy. 98 N. in Lakeland.  Detectives say the man again produced a handgun and demanded money from the register, as well as cigarettes. Once again, the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and several cartons of Marlboro cigarettes.  Witnesses say, he was last seen heading west on Duff Rd. away from the crime scene on foot.
