Suspects sought after Pasco mother and daughter are shot

Posted: Updated:
LAND O' LAKES, FL (WFLA) -

A mother and her 14-year-old daughter were both shot in the stomach as they interrupted a home invasion early Wednesday morning.

They were airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital, where they are now stable.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies say the shooting happened at 1:37 a.m. at 20045 Valdez Lane. The mother and daughter live across the street.

Pasco County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Melanie Snow says a neighbor called the mother and said they heard noises coming from the living room.

"She thought that something might be wrong," said Snow. "They knocked on the door. As they opened the door, there were three males inside the door in the middle of a home invasion. At that time, they were both shot basically on the front porch as they were trying to enter the home," said Snow.

Seven people were staying in the mobile home Wednesday morning when the shooing happened.

"This home is somewhat known to the area as having a lot of activity. There's always a lot of people at this home coming and going at all hours," explained Snow.

The three male suspects are still at large.
