POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

A teenager from Hardee County died in a one-vehicle crash late Sunday night on State Road 60 near Mulberry, Polk County Sheriff's traffic deputies told us.

According to the sheriff's office report, Lezet Mendoza, 27, of Bowling Green, was driving her 1997 Ford Explorer when she saw something on the road, as she told deputies. She swerved to avoid collision and the SUV slid and rolled over a few times.

Mendoza's passengers, Amanda Mendoza, 22, of Mulberry and Monica Gonzalez, 17 of Bowling Green,  were ejected. Deputies told us, the passengers were not wearing seatbelts.

Lezet Mendoza had her seatbelt on. She suffered minor injuries, deputies told us. Doctors examined her at Lakeland Regional Medical Center and released her.

Amanda Mendoza had a broken leg, according to the deputies' report. Paramedics took her the LRMC.

Gonzalez died at the scene.

Deputies said, neither speed nor impairment were factors in the crash. They continue to investigate.
