Man returned to St. Pete to face murder charges

ST PETERSBURG -

An ex-fugitive has been extradited from Louisiana to St. Petersburg to face charges in the death of his former girlfriend and a man she was seeing. U.S. Marshals tracked down Jamall Jenkins earlier this year.

Jenkins is accused in the January deaths of 24-year-old Destynee Nekole Burkes and 31-year-old Dewitte Hollis. Burkes was found dead in a hotel room. Hollis was shot to death a week later at an apartment complex.

Jenkins was quickly identified as a suspect. The Times reports that the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force tracked him to an apartment in Metairie, La., near New Orleans.

He is being held without bail in the Pinellas County Jail. There is no attorney listed on jail records.
