TRAFFIC ALERT: Himes Avenue closed

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

South Himes Avenue will close for traffic at 9 a.m. Monday morning between Jean Circle and West Neptune Street.

Tampa Water Department crews will be working on fixing a water line break there, TWD officials told us. They said markers will be in place to show the local detours.

Tampa Water officials expect to finish the repair by about 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. In the meantime, they ask drivers to avoid the area.

TWD staff and crews appreciate everyone's patience.

Melanie and Jeffrey Cornwell should have been getting a tax break for years on part of the homestead property in Dunedin they call their "little piece of Heaven." But due to a mistake at the Pinellas Property Appraiser's Office, they won't see any rebates for previous taxes, just a break on future tax bills.
